Ten persons died in an auto crash on the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway in Ogun State while 5 other people were seriously injured.

The accident occurred at Ibara village, near Sagamu Interchange.

A white Mazda commercial bus with registration number TRE 556 XA and a granite-laden truck marked Lagos LND 564 XP were involved in the accident that occurred at about 10.30 a.m. on Thursday.

It was gathered that the passenger bus left Sango for Ago-Iwoye/Ijebu-Igbo but had to pull over at the village to allow a female passenger ease herself.

It was in the process that the truck rammed into the stationary bus from the rear.

It was learnt that 3 of those who died were prospective students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, who were going to the institution to formalise their admission requirements.

When contacted, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Clement Oladele, confirmed the incident.

He said the bodies of the victims were deposited at the mortuary of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu

He added that the injured were taken to the same hospital for treatment.
