Troops Expect Over 700 Boko Haram Members To Surrender
This is comes a day after a military priest said war against Boko Haram will end soon.
Deputy Chaplain of the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Reverend Ayuba Usman, however, wants the Army to totally surrender to God for them to get total victory over the terrorist group.
A day after the priest made the statement, suspected location of Boko Haram terrorists was attacked by troops of 26 Task Force Brigade, Nigerian Army, Operation Lafiya Dole, on Monday.
A spokesman for the Army, Brigadier-General Sani Usman, said over 700 members of Boko Haram terrorists are to surrender to our troops.
“Out of the 700, 70 have come out of hiding and are being profiled.
“The rest are expected to come out from hiding the coming days.
“Preliminary investigation has shown that among them were key commanders and influential members of the terrorists group, one of whom matches suspect number 225 on Boko Haram terrorists most wanted list released by the Nigerian Army,” a statement by Brigadier-General Usman read.
He stated that “the surrendered terrorists have been making useful statements and it is expected that many more of them will surrender.
