Efforts to end attacks on communities in Benue State have continued, with troops of 72 and 93 Battalions making some arrests.

Two suspected members of a militia gang terrorising residents of Katsina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State were arrested, the Aso Rock said on Tuesday. 

Activities of armed groups in the state have led to deaths of scores in different communities since the beginning of the year. 

Many have also been made homeless.

To tackle the trend, the military launched Operation Cat Race in the central region.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons belong to a notorious militia gang led by one Mr Gana who is now at large.

This is coming just as the Nigerian Air Force said it has started aerial bombardment of locations occupied by armed bandits in Zamfara State another State that has witnessed increase in the activities of bandits.
