One of the players in Nigeria’s 2014 World Cup squad in Brazil, Ramon Azeez has joined a new club in Spain.

Azeez on Thursday made a switch to Spanish second division club, CD Lugo from Almeria and signed a contract that will keep him in the club for the next two years.

The defensive midfielder, who was given an option of an extension sequel to his performance in the side, snubbed several offers to agree to the deal.

Azeez scored two goals in 22 appearances for Almeria last season as they finished 15th in the Segunda division.

It is understood that a €1 million release clause has been inserted into Azeez's contract if a Segunda Division team is interested in his services, while La Liga teams will have to pay €3 million.
