Though he is not in the mould of Paul Pogba nor Gareth Bale, Nigerian star Rabiu Ibrahim is a star in his own right.

He has been acquired by his new club in Slovakia for a club record transfer fee.

The Slovak Super Liga team šK Slovan Bratislava have confirmed the signing of the Nigeria international via an official statement on their official website.

The club's vice president Ivan Kmotrík ml said: "A transfer Ibrahim Rabiu is the largest in the history of Slovakia, it comes from the Belgian city of Gent and the total amount reaches Transfer threshold of one million euros. 

"We are extremely happy to have won the top player. We wanted him already during his tenure in Trencin, initial negotiations with Gent, Belgium we have had since January this year. The negotiations with the club were very difficult and lengthy, but we have successfully finalized and signed with them for Ibrahim on a four-year contract. 

"We wanted to significantly strengthen the central formation, so we decided to engage Rabiu, who in the middle will bring constructive and kick off the balance sheet. 

"We're not going into the unknown, well we saw how Rabiu presented during operation in Slovakia. Ibrahima in Slovan welcome and I believe that our cooperation will be successful." said Ivan Kmotrík ml.

Rabiu Ibrahim has experience in the Slovakia top-flight having made 46 games appearances for AS Trencin, with ten goals to his name during the 2016 season.
