Former Enugu Rangers star, Chikeluba Francis Ofoedu has sealed a new two-year deal with Israeli premier league side, Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Maccabi confirmed the signing of the Nigerian forward via their official website late on Tuesday.

The Former Rangers striker left Turkish second division side Eskisehirspor after spending 2 seasons with the team, where he netted 19 goals in 58 appearances for the club.

According to the club CEO Ben Mansford;

”I am delighted to welcome ‘Chico’ to Maccabi as we continue to finalize the squad for this season.

“Chico had many options across Europe and it is a superb achievement from everyone at the Club, from Mitch to Vladamir, that we got this one closed out.

”We truly believe that Ofoedu will excite the fans as he is the type of player that has you on the edge of your seat.

“Chico is a player that is capable of scoring and providing opportunities for his team mates. Welcome to Maccabi” he said.

Apart from Eskisehirspor, Ofoedu had also played for Samsunspor, Karsiyaka and 1461 Trabzon all in Turkey.

Israel is home for a couple of Nigerian players including the Super Eagles duo of John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme.
