FC Barcelona have officially announced that they and Liverpool FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Philippe Coutinho.

The club, in an official statement on Saturday, disclosed that Coutinho will sign a contract for the remainder of the season and five more, and will have a buyout clause of 400 million euros.

Barcelona promised to make more details of the player's arrival and presentation known to the public soon.

Coutinho’s talent is not in doubt as he has been playing for Brazil since 2010.

He played in the Copa América in 2015 and 2016 for his country as well as playing a vital part in helping the Samba Boys qualify for the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.

Indeed, his acquisition is a big plus for Barcelona.
