Thugs Warn Melaye To Stay Away From Kogi
Some political thugs in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State have warned Senator Dino Melaye not to enter the town or else he will be attacked.
Melaye is billed to start a working visit in his constituency on Wednesday where he will commission some projects for the benefit of his constituents.
The senator is expected to commission projects in all the seven local government councils of the state, starting from Wednesday till Friday this week.
The suspected political thugs who made their intention known through unsigned flyers which were distributed yesterday at the naming ceremony of the Lokoja administrator, Hon. Shiru Lawal, said Kogi State is a no go area for the senator
The flyer read thus, “Dino don’t patronize Kogi.
“Stay away else, you have yourself to blame. Safe yourself and remain where you are, keep off from our land.
“Dino come and reap what you sowed, you don’t respect our leaders so we don’t respect you. Respect is reciprocal.
“Take what you get if you dare us expect the worse, we warn you”.
In a swift reaction, Melaye said that he wrote the Police and other security agents of his coming to Kogi State to commission projects, adding that the programme is aimed at empowering his immediate constituency.
The lawmaker added that he will be commissioning meaningful projects across all the seven local government council of the state starting from Wednesday stressing that as far he is concerned, nobody can prevent him from visiting his state.
Meanwhile, the Public Relation officer of the Kogi State Police Command, William Ayah, while reacting on the threat, said his command is aware of Melaye's coming to the state, but said he is not aware of the pamphlet distributed by unknown persons.
