But justice didn't sit still and watch him rob others blue black. Luck ran out on him after his decided to extend his dragnet across Nigeria's South-West region.
He was among three youngsters recently arrested in a renewed onslaught against crime in Osun state.
The Police Command in Osun on Monday paraded Femi Agboola for allegedly duping an American of 80,000 dollars (which translates to about Twenty-Nine Million two hundred thousand naira only).
The Police Commissioner, Fimihan Adeoye, while parading the suspect before newsmen in Osogbo, explained his mode of operation.
Femi was said to have used the same old trick of posing as a woman to the unsuspecting victim on an online dating site.
The victim thought she had found the serious and sincere relationship she was looking for and she continued to fall for Femi’s tricks until she was scammed to the tune of 80,000 dollars.
CP Adeoye said when the suspect was apprehended, he conceded to the allegation against him but explained that he only got 43,000 against the 80,000 dollars claimed by the American.
The Commissioner of Police decried the rate at which young people now engage in various forms of crimes in the state noting that it shows the youths are nonchalant to hard work.
Others paraded include a gang of three led by 23-year-old Shefiu Olayinka.
They specialise in buying stolen motorcycles and reselling them. Twelve motorcycles were recovered from the gang.
Another was the gang who had been on the wanted list of the Police. The CP said the gang had been terrorising the people of Ede and had been involved in series of kidnapping and murders.
