THIS CHRISTMAS: What This Gombe Emir Did Will Amaze You
It was a moment of unity, joy and excitement for residents in Kaltungo Chiefdom of Gombe State as the Emir of Kaltungo Sale Muhammed, rolled out the merry drum to celebrate Christmas with Christian faithful in his Chiefdom.
Tagged PAN-MANA DURBAR, the annual event is usually organised a day to Christmas so as to calm the atmosphere and have Christians prepare for Christmas service and celebrations the next day.
This is according to Mohammed Dantata Ndus, the Magayakin Kaltungo.
Gombe state commissioner of Environment and Forest Resources Hajiya Sa’adatu Sa’ad-Mustapha who doubles as the Alkebbar Kaltungo told Bounce News that the event is a testimony of peaceful coexistence between the Muslims and Christians in the chiefdom.
“This is to show that we are one family and we live in peace despite having Muslims and Christians in a family.
“You see the beauty of Kaltungo is that you hardly differentiate between a Muslim and Christian event, we all turn out to celebrate with one another,” he said.
The durbar, which involves touring around the rock of PAN-MANA, also featured a royal dinner for bigwigs who made their way to the event.
Cultural richness ranging from cultural music and attire displays with dancing exhibited.
In his remarks shortly after the display, the Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman-Adamu, who was the chairman of the event said;
"I am highly impressed with what I saw here today in Kaltungo, this initiative is more than just event, this is truly a proof that Kaltungo Chiefdom is one big united family".
He also congratulated the Emir of Kaltungo for initiating the Durbar and prayed that Christmas which was the reason for the celebration would be peaceful and memorable.
