"The Washerman" Cost An Average Of 12 Million Naira To Make
When film maker, Daniel Oriahi, said the average amount for shooting a Nollywood film was 10 million Naira, he was not far from the truth.
During a radio interview, the star and producer of the movie, Etinosa Idemudia, said she spent between 9 and 15 million Naira to make her upcoming romantic comedy movie, “The Washerman”.
This means that she spent an average of 12 million Naira to make the film.
“I spent between 9 and 15 million Naira to make the film, we are still spending money, the money we spent is small, I wish we could spend more like 50 million Naira” she said.
She said the budget for the film was drawn from her own personal savings and sponsors.
"The Washerman," a romantic comedy which tells the story of a vlogger, KC, who is desperately in search of love.
After a few frustrating disappointments, she says a prayer, but when the answer comes, it is not what she expects.
The movie stars, IK Ogbonna, Etinosa Idemudia, Bryan Okwara, Mofe Duncan, Judith Audu, Chris Okagbue, Soundsultan and Jaywon.
it was directed by Charles Uwagbai (Brother Jekwu, Esohe, The Ghost and the Tout) the movie is scheduled to be released in cinemas on August 31, 2018.
