Angela Nwoke had sent someone to buy her N200 worth of pepper soup from Margaret’s peppersoup spot on Sunday evening.

But when the bowl was delivered, she went back to claim N50 change saying the pepper soup she got should not be N200.

An argument over the cost of the pepper soup led to a big misunderstanding between her and the seller.

She could not control her temper and she angrily bathed the pepper-soup seller with a bucketful of water and tore her cloth.

Margaret reported the matter at Orita Challenge Police Station at about 8: 02pm on September 2 and the police arrested the accused.

The Police Prosecutor, Insp Sunday Ojeleye, told the court that Angela had contravened Section 355 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol.II Laws of Oyo state 2000 but the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.S Durowoju granted her bail in the sum of N25,000 with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case until Oct. 2, for hearing.

All hassles of proving her innocence before the court, she has to go through, just because of 50 naira.
