Thankful Osinbajo Visits Collapsed Building Site
While President Muhammadu Buhari is resting abroad where he is on vacation, the man standing-in for him, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, is hitting the ground running
He is also giving Nigerians more to talk about.
On Friday in Abuja, a four-storey building collapsed, leading to deaths and injuries in varied degrees.
Hours after the incident occurred, the Acting President visited the scene to see things for himself.
After the visit, Professor Osinbajo shared a video of it.
A few lines of words that accompanied the video read: "This evening, I visited the site of the building that collapsed in Abuja.
"My heart goes out to the family that lost someone today.
"There are no words to describe how you must be feeling.
"On behalf of this nation, please accept our sincere condolences.
"To all of the people who were injured, we wish you speedy recovery".
The Acting President also expressed his gratitude to officials of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service and the National Emergency Management Agency.
"Thank you to officials of the FCT Fire Service and NEMA for conducting rescue operations quickly. Your actions saved lives today, thank you so very much.
Earlier, when the crowd at the scene saw the Acting President, it was all cheers in an atmosphere filled with sorrow and sadness, as people still pray and hope more victims will survive.
May God grant peace to the souls of the departed.
