Tennis: Federer Beats Nadal To Win Shanghai Masters Title
Roger Federer beat Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-3 to win the Shanghai Masters on Sunday.
The latest victory means Federer has now extended his winning streak over Nadal to four matches in 2017, but still trails behind Nadal 23-15 in their overall head-to-head record.
Nadal stormed the court with a bandage on his right knee, the same leg he hit twice with his racket when he lost his serve in the semifinal for the time this week.
Federer did not miss the chance of a third break point in the first game of the match with a winning backhand passing shot.
In the final game, Nadal netted a forehand at 15-40 to end the 72-minute match.
The 36-year-old Swiss professional tennis player is currently ranked world No. 2 in men's singles.
