Team South Africa have arrived the country following their participation at the 2018 African Senior Athletics Championship.

South Africa came overall second with nine gold, two behind Kenya, who emerged winner with 11 gold.

Host Nigeria finished 3rd.

Press attaché to Team South Africa confirmed to Bounce News on Tuesday that the side has arrived home safely.

“We are just arriving. Akani (Simbine) flew from Lagos to overseas.” He said in a short message.

Simbine won the men’s 100m event at the championship held in Asaba.

South Africa, winner of the African Senior Athletics Championship in 2014, defended their title when they hosted it in 2016.
