Syrian Boy Kidnapped In Kano Regains Freedom
It has been a sad week for a Syrian family in Kano State, Nigeria.
Few days ago, the head of the family, Ahmed Areeda, who was a businessman, was killed by gunmen when he tried to stop them from kidnapping his son.
After his death, the kidnappers still took away his son.
On Saturday, however, the boy, Muhammad Areeda, who had been in custody of the abductors since Tuesday, April 10, regained freedom.
The 14-year-old boy's release was confirmed by the police.
The spokesman for the State Police Command, Magaji Majia, told reporters that the boy was rescued by the police.

SP Majia said: “The boy has been rescued. He was released without paying any ransom to the kidnappers".
The boy will return home to the reality of his father's death and this highlights the need for kidnapping and other increasing crimes.
