Criminal activities have been on the increase in recent times in Mbeke community of Ebonyi local government area.

Recently, a gang of armed robbers terrorized the popular Mbeke market, now a group of boys have unleashed mayhem in the area.

The boys are alleged to be loyalists to the Ebonyi State People's Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman, Onyekachi Nwebonyi.

It was gathered that their recent onslaught was on Customary Court II Member from the area, Mathias Nwambo.

In a chat with Bounce News, Hon. Nwambo Emmanuel disclosed that the fracas could be traced to August 21, when the State PDP Chairman sent his boys against him.

He said one Matthew Nome, Emma Nwofoke, Chido Nwkuda, Friday Osondu and 14 others were sent against him on Sunday.

According to him, he was attacked at Nworie Market Square, and his van and other valuables were forcefully taken away.

“They attacked me with guns, axes, cutlasses at Nworie Market Square on Sunday at about 6pm. They forcefully dragged me out of the car before they made away with it, my phone, 2 wrist watches and #34,000.

“The same Hilux was given to me as Head of Operations, Divine Mandate, Ebonyi LGA in 2015 by Chief Godwin Ogbaga which the party chairman was aware.

“The van was later discovered in the home of one Mr. Matthew Nome who is a loyalist to the party chairman.

“Also, Onyekachi Nwebonyi sent the same people to my father's compound and destroyed all his properties, including 2 motorcycles, killed three goats, Turkey, and made away with #1,500.000 they saw in his room.

“They beat my dad Chief Mathias Nwambo who is a Customary Court Member II to coma”, he told Bounce News.

Meanwhile, Matthew Nome denied attacking Emmanuel Nwambo and his father, Mathias Nwamgbo.

“Nothing concerns me and Nwamgbo. Nobody attacked him, rather we attended meeting, thereafter Mr. Nwamgbo submitted his van, saying that his madam was leaving the party,” he said.
