Tragedy struck on Tuesday night when a 22-year-old Nuhu Ibrahim of Malam Joda ward in Jalingo, Taraba State was alleged to have been killed at about 8pm by suspected cultists.

According to a member of the deceased's family, Suleiman Ibrahim, Nuhu had on Tuesday evening told his relative that he wanted to collect his mobile phone from a neighborhood but did not return.                          

Suleiman said Nuhu was a very good and hardworking person, who always concentrates on his activities not minding others.

The ward head of Tudun Wada Mai Unguwa, Garba maicibi, while speaking with journalist, said he was immediately informed of the murder incident, stating that he personally rushed to the scene of the crime and found the decease in a pool of his own blood.

Police officials were revealing that the victim was found with an ax indicating that the deceased might have been involved in a fight with unknown persons.

Investigation by our reporter suggests that Nuhu Ibrahim may have secertly engaged in taking banned substances.

When contacted, the police public relations officer of Taraba State, David Misal confirmed the incident, saying investigation has commence to fish out the killers of the 22-year-old.

He affirmed that the incident occur in Tudun Wada where a young man by name Nuhu Ibrahim, 22, who resides in Mallam Joda, was seen running and shouting seeking for help when the people in that area came out, they discover that he was stabbed in the stomach.

Misal said cultism among youths in Taraba state has become quite common especially in Jalingo the state capital, but that the police have take some measures to end the trend.
