Supreme Court Victory: Saraki Gets Prayer, New Title From Emir
The celebration of the victory of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, at the Supreme Court is not over yet.
It has been an interesting moment for the Senate President since he travelled home for the first time after the apex court ruling on his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal over alleged false declaration of asset.
Early on Sunday, he was at the palace of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and he received a 'surprise honour' from the traditional ruler.
First, it was a thanksgiving prayer session held for the Senate President by the Emirate to thank Allah for my recent victory at the Supreme Court.
The Senate President shared a post on his Facebook page after the prayer session and the conferment of a title that followed.
He wrote: "This morning, I went to the Palace of the Emir of Ilorin for a Thanksgiving Prayer Session organised by the
"As the prayer session was coming to an end, the Emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, surprised all of us by announcing my elevation to the traditional title of Wazirin Ilorin, a position last occupied by my late father, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki.
"May the Almighty Allah (SWT) retain for him a place in Aljannah Al-Firdaus. Alhamdulillahi, Alhamdulillahi, Alhamdulilahi Robil Al-amin".
The Senate President also highlighted that the "Holy Quran teaches us that those who give thanks to Allah for His favours will always get more, Alhamdulilahi Robil Al-amin".
Earlier in the previous week, it was celebration galore at Ilorin, Kwara State, when Dr. Saraki made a grand entry into the state after a long battle over alleged false asset declaration.
