What wouldn’t a mother do to keep her baby from harm?

A young Australian woman has posted photos of the injuries she received as she tried to protect her infant daughter from tennis ball-sized hailstones.

Hailstones are those stone-like ice falling like rain, so you can call it a solid rain. It’s hard and really hurts when it hit you directly.

So, the young mum, Fiona Simpson from Kingaroy, Queensland was in her car with her baby and grandmother, when she drove into a storm.

The massive hailstones smashed through the car's windows. Fearing for her child's safety, Ms Simpson put her body on the line.

"I've learnt my lesson today, never drive in a hail storm!" she wrote. "I covered my infant with my body to stop her from getting badly injured.

"My entire back, arms and head are badly bruised. I'm just so relieved that my daughter and grandmother are alright.

"Please, please be careful in this storm season. I know I'll be sore tomorrow, does anyone know of a cream or ointment that will help with the bruising?"
