The guys are moving and the ladies are not left out in the buzzing summer transfer window.

Brighton announced Umotong's signing on their official website on Thursday.

"Brighton and Hove Albion women have completed the signing of Nigerian international Ini Umotong from Oxford United for the upcoming FA Women's Super League [FAWSL] 2 season.

"The 23-year-old joins Albion after spending just over a year with fellow FAWSL 2 side Oxford, and played against the Seagulls when the two sides contested a 1-1 draw in last season’s FAWSL Spring Series.

Umotong has been capped once by Nigeria. She was the FAWSL 2 top scorer in 2016, scoring 13 goals in 19 appearances.

She also found the net four times in seven games for the U23’s in this year’s FAWSL Spring Series.

Commenting on the signing of Umotong, Brighton Women’s first-team assistant manager Amy Merricks, said, “Ini is a player that we have monitored for a while, and is someone we were well aware of after her spells at both Portsmouth and Oxford.

“She is a proven goalscorer and will add a new dimension to our forward options for the upcoming FAWSL 2 season.”

Umotong was a member of the Super Falcons squad that featured at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada but she was rooted on the bench all through the three group games.
