Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon has confirmed there was interest from English Premier League club Liverpool prior to the kick off of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Simon was dropped from the Nigerian squad to Russia because of injury, and has since returned to his club – KAA Gent.

He said the UEFA Champions League finalists have not made an official offer for his services.

“Well, for now, I’m still a player of KAA Gent; obviously, there was interest from Liverpool but nothing is concrete for now,” he was quoted by AOI Football

“I’m currently in Holland with the rest of the squad and we are getting ready for the new season.

“We have a game against PAOK in two days; hopefully, I might play in that one.”

In June, there were reports Liverpool was interested in paying a £10m fee for Simon as he has just one year left on his contract at Gent.

Simon made 33 appearances scoring six goals and creating three assists across all competitions for Gent last season.
