Monday’s friendly between the Super Eagles and the Simba of DR Congo may well just serve as an exhibition match and not the tune-up game it was originally planned to be.

This is because the bulk of the players invited by DR Congo Coach Florent Ibenge are pulling one by one for varying reasons.

Yannick Bolasie, Arthur MASUAKU, Neeskens Kebano, Ndongala, Cedric Bakambu, Jordan IKOKO, Gael Kakuta are some of the players who seem to prefer doing something else on that date than to face the Super Eagles.

Many are not even in support of the friendly going on in the first place with the Ebola scare all over the place.

However, it seems both Nigeria and DR Congo officials have their minds made up on this game and no challenge whatsoever will stop it.

Monday’s planned game in Port Harcourt will be the second time in three years the Super Eagles will be facing the Leopards of DR Congo.

The last friendly match between the two nations took place in November 2015 in Belgium.

The DRC won 2-0 thanks to goals from Dieumerci Mbokani and Jordan Botaka.
