Defender Uche Agbo is one of seven players placed on standby ahead of Super Eagles’ World Cup qualifier against Cameroon.

He would be contacted to move to camp in case there is any issue with any player on the original list of 23.

Though he may not get a chance to fight for Nigeria on the pitch, the Standard Liege central back has drummed support for the Super Eagles for the two-legged fixture against the Indomitable Lions on September 1 and 4.

“I have seen the squad list for the matches against Cameroon and the players invited are good players. I am not bothered I was placed on standby, I only ask God that we beat Cameroon and qualify for World Cup,” he told SCORENigeria.

“It should now be a collective prayer for the team as a Nigerian for the team to qualify to the World Cup.”

A win for the 2013 Africa champions on September 1 will take them to nine points ahead of the return leg in Yaounde.
