Super Eagles defender, Shehu Abdullahi is targeting a place in the final squad that will represent Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Abdullahi was narrowly dropped from the finally list that made it to the last World Cup in Brazil, but is hoping to make his World Cup debut in Russia.

He was voted the Man of The Match in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Zambia on October 7, and was among CAF’s starting 11 of Matchday 5 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The 25-year-old admits its not easy to make the final World Cup squad but has promised to keep working hard.

“It is not easy to make the final list for the World Cup, but I will make sure I work hard, concentrate, remain fit and give my best to the team,” Abdullahi told Complete Sports.

Abdulahi currently plays for Anothosis Famagusta in Cyprus.
