While many had predicted that the Super Eagles will run riot against the Corsica national team in Friday's test game, the Nigerian team could only salvage a 1-1 draw.

However, going forward the stand-in captain for the team, Elderson Echiejile said they learnt a lot playing the tiny Island country and the players would put up a better performance in their next game against Togo in five days time.

”It was a good game, which we would have won but did not.

“We hope to improve on our finishing in the next game against Togo on Thursday.” the left-back stated.

Indeed the Super Eagles fluffed a lot of goal scoring opportunities and one of the biggest culprits, Henry Onyekuru said it was painful to miss so many chances.

“It was a good game but we did not take our chances,” lamented Onyekuru who is being linked to Arsenal.

“All the same, the match has built my confidence.” the striker added.

As already stated, the Super Eagles next match against the Hawks has been scheduled for the Stade Municipal de Saint Leu La Foret, Paris on Thursday, June 01, 2017 starting from 7.30pm.
