This is not good news for Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr who has planned to tell his players to take things easy and avoid injury during their pre-World Cup friendly matches.

But 10 days before their first friendly against Poland, defender Tyronne Ebuehi has been confirmed injured by his Dutch club ADO Den Haag.

The most worrisome part of it is the inability of the club to tell how long Ebuehi will be on the sidelines.

“ADO Den Haag saw no fewer than three defenders (injured) at the home match against NAC Breda last Saturday: Tom Beugelsdijk, Tyronne Ebuehi and Wilfried Kanon. Beugelsdijk has a hamstring injury, while Ebuehi and Kanon have groin problems.

“Ebuehi and Kanon suffer from the groin area, but it is not yet known how long their recovery will last" a statement on the club’s website reads.

It is less than nine days to the friendly against Poland and 13 days to the game with Serbia in London, will Ebuehi recover in time for those matches? Only time will tell.

But it is expected that ADO Den Haag keep the Super Eagles defender, so they can monitor and ensure a perfect recovery to fitness.
