This is not the best of times for Nigeria Professional Football League club, Sunshine Stars.

The Akure Gunners have lost their last three matches, while former Super Eagles coach, Austin Eguavoen resigned his appointment as manager.

The club has also been banished from their home ground and will now play their matches at the Dipo Dina stadium in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

Also, Sunshine Stars will be without their first choice goalkeeper David Ariyo for 12 consecutive matches. They will also pay a fine of N1 million.

In the summary jurisdiction notice issued the club, the LMC charged, “You are in breach of Rule C9 of the Framework and Rules of the Nigeria Professional Football League, in that on Wednesday, 7th June, 2017, in the course of your Match Day 23 Fixture: Sunshine Stars FC vs Plateau United FC, you failed to control your players when they accosted the Assistant Referee and assaulted him.”
