Gafar could no longer bear it, as he watches his family go hungry. His source of income had been sold and everything was consistently heading south for his family.

He opted for the capital decision, leaving his family behind to go through more pains.

The people of Okinni In Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun state were on Monday evening thrown into mourning, as a father of two hung himself to death in his home.

The man simply identified as Gafar, was found hanging lifeless by his son whose cry for help alerted the people in the area.

Chronic poverty must have driven the man to take his own life.

Bounce News reliably gathered that Gafar, a motorcyclist, recently sold his motorcycle, which witnesses said was his only source of income.

Gafar's son further explained that having three square meal per day has been very difficult for them for some days.

He said the whole family did not eat anything On Sunday, and that his father managed to give him the only #50 he had, earlier Monday morning.

The little boy said his mother had travelled very early in the morning, and had not returned.

Meanwhile, officers from the Dada Estate police station had visited the scene of the incident and taken the body to the mortuary.
