Students Give El-Rufai 3 Weeks To Reopen Kaduna Schools
The students handed out the warning in Kaduna in a press statement issued under the umbrella of the Southern Kaduna Youth and Students Forum (SKYSFOM).
The College of Education Gidan Waya/Kafanchan, College of Nursing, Kafanchan and the Kaduna State University, kafanchan campus are currently shut. The schools were closed due to crisis in the area.
The leaders of the group, Galadima Jesse and Ezekiel David, said the three weeks grace is being given with respect to the Holy month of Ramadan.
They noted that the continued closure of these school is detrimental to the development of youth in the state.
Here are some parts of the statement issued by the group
“It is quite disheartening that education which is supposed to be the pathway to making Kaduna state and any nation great is deliberately crippled and raped by its preachers in the state for reasons that may be best known to maybe only one man, His Excellency, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai.
"We are therefore calling on various professional bodies, College of Education Academics Staff Union, COEASU, National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwifery, NANNM, Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, other relevant bodies and well meaning individuals to rise and add their voices against this potential professional murder."
