Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka has condemned those canvassing a second term in office for President Muhammadu Buhari.

Soyinka said it was sickening for some people to be canvassing a second term in office for Buhari midway into his first tenure.

Governors from the northern states of the country who are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had on Saturday said nothing would stop Buhari from contesting the 2019 election.

Buhari has also received the nod  from some notable politicians from the South-west to contest the 2019 presidential election.

But Soyinka who spoke on Monday with some newsmen at the Freedom Park in Lagos Island, noted that he did not want to be part of such discuss.

Soyinka also said Nigeria is long overdue for reconfiguring.

He stated that those who say what Nigerians need is just a restructuring of the mind are deliberately avoiding the obvious.

Soyinka said restructuring of the mind could be done on daily basis,  but the nation needs to be reconfigured from inside-out.
