There was confusion at the National Youth Service orientation camp in Karaye, Kano State, on Friday night.

This was following a clash between a corps member and the camp commandant over alleged inhumane treatment of corps members by the officer and his men.

According to sources, the corps members in camp were fed up with the excessive punishments from the commandant and his soldiers, with the corps members staging a mini protest.

They shouted, “We no go gree, we are graduates" in the camp deep into the night.

According to an anonymous source, trouble started when the commandant walked up to one of the corps members and punched him.

But the corps member retaliated by punching the commandant who fell to the ground, causing his men to rush to his aide.

The corps members were reported to have intensified with demands that the commandant be decamped.

When contacted, the state NYSC coordinator, Ladan Baba, confirmed the clash, saying the issue had been resolved amicably and normalcy had returned to the camp.

The state NYSC Coordinator, however, granted the demands of corps members by approving the decamping of the camp commandant.
