His mates are battling hardened terrorists in the northeast, but he is using his military training to torment innocent Nigerians down south.

Corporal Akpan Edet is obviously one of the few bad eggs in the Nigeria Army.

While citizens queued at the petrol station through the night hoping for supply, Edet had led three other men to hijack the fuel meant for the public.

They allegedly intercepted the truck at Iwo road and diverted its route to Omi Adio area where they dragged out the driver and his boy.

Dressed in his full military camouflage, he ordered the driver out of the truck when they got to Omi Adio, made a U-turn and headed for Osun state.

But his luck ran out on getting to Ilesa-Akure road, as they were nabbed while offloading the fuel.

Although this was his second outing, the Corporal denied being an armed robber saying that he was only hired for the operation.

Edet, 28 gave his address to the police as 8 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Mokola Ibadan.

He was paraded by the state police commissioner on Friday alongside Onyeka Joshua, 34, Ralph Onhowan 30, and Ugo Monday 32.

The Police Commissioner disclosed that all the suspects would appear in court after thorough investigation.
