They were arrested on Thursday by security operatives attached to the Inspector-General of Police (IG) Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

The suspects are Tunji Adesanya, Rasaq Lawal, Hammed Lawal, Olanrewaju Wasiu, Kenneth Ohmai, and Ibrahim Aliu.

The suspects had reportedly attacked a Customs official, Garba Usman on January 1, 2017, disposing him of his 2006 saloon car.

They also attacked, Akubo Ibrahim, also a Customs official, on January 5, 2017, and robbed him of his Sports Utility Vehicle.

According to the Police, both incidents occurred at Mowo area of Badagry, Lagos.

Following the reports of the incidents, the Police IG, Ibrahim Idris, ordered the IRT to go after the robbers. “Following IG’s directives, massive

manhunt was launched by IRT on the armed robbers and the unrelenting follow up led to the arrest of the six suspects,” the Police revealed.
