Every year, one of the top music events in the world - the South by Southwest Music Festival (SXSW) brings together the global music industry.

The objective is to spotlight the varying musical subcultures around the world.

This year, the festival will be taking place from March 11-17, and it will count almost 1,000 acts from over 60 different countries, including Colombia, South Korea and Nigeria.

With a focus on networking and the discovery of newer and/or more globally obscure acts, the SXSW festival is more interested in genuine talents than big names.

As such, the rather extensive list of Nigerian acts going over to Texas in March includes the skillful rapper, Vector; the multi-talented Falz; and the now married dream team of Simi and Adekunle Gold.

Other Nigerians to perform include: Alternate Sound, DJ Sose, Dream Catcher's Dance Academy, Falz, Mayorkun, Mr Eazi, Seyi Shay, Ushbebe and Yemi Alade.
