Maryam Na'Allah noticed that her six-year old son was behaving strangely and complaining of pains in the stomach and anus.

The worried mother took him to Our Lady of Apostle hospital in Jos, where it was discovered that he had semen deposit in his anus.

Shocked, relatives sought to know where he got it and he fingered a shop keeper, Sunday Aniagolu, of luring and sexually violating him.

Maryam of A4 Ali Kazuare Str., Jos, reported the incident to the `B’ Division police station on July 17, 2017.

This was the account given by police prosecutor, Sgt. Ibrahim Gukwat, before an Upper Area Court in Kasuwan Nama area of Jos on Monday.

Aniagolu, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, complained to the court that the boy’s relatives had assaulted and beat him over the alleged crime.

The Judge, Yahaya Mohammed, denied the accused bail and ordered him to remain in prison till August 14.

In denying the bail application, the Judge said an offence of rape by “unnatural means is not ordinarily bailable”.
