SHOCKING! 2 Official Cars Of Yobe Governor To Cost N156m
The Yobe State Executive Council on Wednesday approved the purchase of 2 Lexus jeeps as staff cars for the Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam.
This was part of other approvals made during the council meeting.
It was announced by the Commissioner for Education in the state, Mr Mohammed Lamin, who addressed reporters after the meeting.
Going by the figure, if the two vehicles are of the same model, each will cost the state government 78 million Naira to procure.
According to a report on most expensive SUVs in 2017 published by Forbes, the most expensive Lexus Jeep is LX 570 which is just $39,355.
With a conversion rate of 364 per dollar as at September 13, that will be 32.889 million Naira.
Is it possible that the Governor's proposed official car is customised?
Does it run on water, with bullet proof, a freezer somewhere under the seat and some other hidden gadgets?
We don't know for sure.
The state government's 2017 budget is 69.3 billion Naira.
Mr Lamin also said that the Council approved the construction of a cargo airport in the capital city, Damaturu, which will also cost 11.32 billion Naira.
Are the Yobe Civil Servants reading this?
The state government believes the cargo airport will facilitate transportation of goods into and out of the state.
