Shell Gives 2.4 Million Naira Grant To 12 Graduates
The Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC has presented 2.4 million-naira to 12 graduates.
The beneficiaries are graduates of its 2018 Joint Venture Livewire Programme for Escravos-Otumara Women.
The money is a free money for the beneficiaries to invest in their startups.
The beneficiaries, who are all women, received 200,000 naira each.
The presentation was made on Friday at an award ceremony held in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government area of Delta.
Mr Igo Weli, the SPDC General Manager (External Relations), was represented on the occasion by the Social Investment Manager, Mr Emmanuel Ekpeyong.

Weli said that over 6,000 persons in Niger Delta had benefited from the programme since its inception in 2003.
He said that the beneficiaries undergone intensive entrepreneurship training before they qualified to receive the start-up grants.
Weli urged the beneficiaries to be focused and determined to succeed in their chosen careers.
“We expect that they will be able to join the rank of successful business owners by nurturing their ideas to fruition.
“Of course, they can count on our continuous support as they nurture their ideas.
“To the beneficiaries, you are taking the first step in what we hope will be a long and fulfilling career in self-development and skill optimization,” he said.
