Three houses, including a church were submerged in flood waters.

An occupant of one of the affected houses, Chibunna Michael, said it took divine intervention for his five children to avoid drowning.

According to him, five families consisting of 18 people, including women and children, were occupying the building.

The rain was said to have paralysed activities in the state capital, as shops, markets and cooperate offices are yet to commence business activities on Friday.
