Seven Suspected Fake Naval Officers Arrested
Everyday for the thief but one day is for the owner, says a popular Yoruba adage.
These fake Naval officers have allegedly made a fortune from defrauding unsuspecting citizens over time.
The Nigerian Navy Shipyard Pathfinder recently busted their operations.
They are seven and have been operating under the name Merchant Navy which they insist is a registered legal entity.
The base Intelligence Officer, NNS Pathfinder, Commander Mamman Aluchi, however, would have none of that.
According to him, such persons pose a threat to the nation’s security as similar groups have been found to recruit thousands of so-called officers and sometimes train them in the use of arms.
While parading them at the base in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, he said further investigation into the group’s activities have begun.
