Senate Slams El-Rufai Over APC Office Demolition
The Senate has condemned in strong terms the demolition of the building housing the office of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state by Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
The Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi faction of the party had been at loggerheads with the governor with the latter suspended for what was termed anti-party affairs.
Shortly after that report made news, when it was learnt that Governor El-Rufai ordered the demolition of the APC office.

Citing Order 43, Senator Shehu Sani who brought up the issue at plenary on Tuesday confirmed that the governor personally led and supervised the demolition without notice.
In his reaction to the news, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu described the actions of the governor as tyrannical and replete with impunity.
"Democracy does not come with this type of tyranny and impunity.
"I condemn this act and hope it doesn’t happen again. There must not be abuse of power and office, there’s a limit to the patience of our people.
"I sympathize with the Sen. who lost his building,” he said.
Ekweremadu afterwards referred the order cited by Senator Sani to the committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions.
