Seiyefa Fred: Police Parade Self-confessed Killers of Bayelsa Student
Junior Daumunabo was arrested while he and his gang members were robbing a family along Ebis mechanic Road in Amarata with a locally made pistol without bullet.
They had succeeded in dispossessing the family of money and other valuables before a resident of that area alerted the vigilante.
Luck ran out on him and he was apprehended by men of the state vigilantes while his gang members absconded with their loot.
The 20-year-old native of Nembe local government area of the state confessed to be a member of Greenland cult group.
He revealed that his gang was responsible for the gruesome murder of Seiyefa Fred.
He said they shot and killed Seiyefa because she had earlier refused to part with her android phone when they confronted her.
He then led men of Nigeria police to arrest 30-year-old Ayibakepreye ldionyo who supplied the locally made pistol used to murder Seiyefa.
The Bayelsa state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Joseph Mukan, on Monday paraded both suspects at the police headquarters located at Diette Spiff Road in Ovom, Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
Police spokesman in the state, Mr. Asinim Butswat told Bounce News "We are working on some promising leads to capture fleeing members of the gang."
Seiyefa Fred was a first year student of the Niger Delta University (NDU) located at Amassoma in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
She had stepped out to buy Suya (cow streak) after which she walked into her compound but about seven steps away from the door of her house, one of the three masked men that had trailed her from the junction, shot her in the chest.
