See What Okorocha Is Begging APC To Do About Son-In-Law
The Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, is really pushing hard to hand over to his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu as the next governor of the state and he wants the All Progressives Congress (APC) to do something about this his dream.
On Sunday, a spokesman for the Governor, Sam Owuemeodo, said Okorocha had appealed to the National working Committee (NWC) of the APC led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to submit the name of Mr Nwosu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the APC governorship primaries in the state.
"The Only Hope"
Okorocha said upholding Nwosu’s candidacy would "protect the high integrity of President Muhammadu Buhari and the integrity of the Party".
He added that Nwosu remained the "only hope" for the state.
The candidates of other parties would spell doom for the state, the spokesman quoted the Governor as saying.
“For some time now, I have been in Abuja fighting for the soul of Imo State from possible kidnap and subsequent destruction by Political thieves.
“The only hope left for Imo State now is for Uche Nwosu to emerge as a candidate, if not there will be total economic catastrophe when I leave as governor.
“Though they have spoken falsely and badly about our candidate, nobody can say that he was a fraudster in Lagos or that he was an armed robber in Benin or an arrogant man or a criminal. “They have actually nothing to say about him except that he is my son-in-law," the release read.
Some members of the APC in the state are contending the emergence of Mr Nwosu who won the second primary election conducted in the state after the APC cancelled the one earlier conducted by Ahmed Gulak.
In reaction to the delay in the submission of his name to INEC, Mr Nwosu said "there are no contentions to my victory at the Imo State governorship primary election, probably the Publicity Secretary was not well informed.
"What we have at the records is that the governorship candidate of the APC in Imo State is Uche Nwosu".
