See What Ebonyi Govt Is Doing For IPOB Members
The Ebonyi state government is not going to throw away the baby and the bathe water.
The state government has extended its hands of fellowship to members of the proscribed secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB).
The government said the youth ”were misled to join the agitation.”
The State Commissioner for Economic Empowerment and Job Creation, Uchenna Orji, said this in Abakaliki.
He explained that the exercise is going on simultaneously in the 13 local government areas of the state.
He said the initiative by the state government would make the IPOB members economically independent and help in reducing social vices.
The commissioner, added that state authorities have extended the empowerment scheme to Ebonyi youth resident in other states of the federation.
These include: Sokoto, Kaduna, Anambra and Lagos. In all, about 3000 youths have been empowered.
