See How Police Want You To Mark Christmas In Lagos
When you see something, say something!
It is Christmas Day and the police are highlighting how Lagos residents must celebrate to ensure they are safe.
They want you to celebrate and also stay alive and that is why they are advising residents in Lagos to celebrate modestly.
Speaking on behalf of the Lagos State Police Command, the Lagos Police Spokesperson, Chike Oti, said fun seekers are advised to adhere to the rule of law.
“Lagosians are advised to celebrate modestly. They should stay out of trouble as they enjoy themselves and they should not drink and drive.
“Fun seekers should be security conscious and be each other’s policeman. When you see something, say something.
“The police is assuring Lagosians of peace and tranquility as everything will be done to ensure protection of lives and property.
“We have our men everywhere and the command is also utilising the philosophy of CP Edgal Imohimi which is community policing to help get intelligence information that would help reduce crimes in the state.
“The command has increased security in the state and our patrol vans had been located at strategic points.
“These patrol vans also serve as mini police station where you can run to when in distress instead of going all the way to a station and you will be attended to,” Oti said.
Complaint Hot Lines
The Spokesman advised Lagosians to be mindful of the information they give out online while celebrating in the festive period.
He said that the Citizens Complaint Hot Center (CCHC) line and the control room numbers could be used to report crime from any location and the police would respond immediately.
The CCHC numbers are : 08067945296, 08063025274, 08063104759, 08113615350, 08113683079, 08096283148, 08096283173, 08089781657, 08126404930 and 08081426895.
