Apparently, there are tens or even hundreds of dead industries in Akwa Ibom State.

This is giving sleepless nights to a non-government organization that has made it a priority to work with the government to bring the dead back to life.

The NGO, Ibom Development and Empowerment Assembly, IDEA - comprising seasoned academics and professionals - would start by giving technical advice based on research to state authorities.

Addressing journalists in Uyo on Thursday, the Chairman of Board of Trustees (BOT) of the NGO, Prof, Alfred Itah named some of the moribund industries in the state to include: the Nigerian Newsprint Manufacturing Company, Quality Ceramics, Qua Steel Company, International Biscuits and Sunshine Batteries.
