The criminals allegedly had the courage to kill some police officers who were on duty.

Police in the Nigerian capital Abuja are on the trail of the daring suspects who attacked two police officers during an anti-crime operation.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, Anjuguri Manzah, said the officers were killed at Tunga Maje on Friday during a fierce gun confrontation with some daredevil hoodlums.

The suspects reportedly escaped the scene with bullet wounds.

The Commissioner of Police (CP) in the FCT, Musa Kimo, has vowed to apprehend the suspects.

“Reacting to the unfortunate incident, the CP who personally visited the scene has ordered a massive manhunt to track down the assailants,” said Manzah.

The killing of the police officers overshadowed breakthroughs police made against alleged criminals hiding around the FCT.
