The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has disclosed the main reason he visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta on Monday.

Saraki held a closed-door meeting with Obasanjo at the latter’s pent house within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta.

The Senate President arrived the OOPL around 5:30pm in a black Toyota Land Cruiser in company with some security aides.

He emerged from the meeting at 7.12pm.

Saraki told journalists after the meeting that he was with Obasanjo to make up for his (Saraki’s) absence at the formal inauguration of the Presidential library held last year.

He said, “You know, I missed the official opening of the library and that is why I have decided to come and see the place and, honestly, it is beautiful.  “We are very proud of what he has done here.”

When probed by Journalists about the crisis rocking the National Assembly, the embattled Senate President hurriedly entered his vehicle and it zoomed off.
