Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has revealed that Senate president Bukola Saraki and Sports Minister Solomon Dalung supported him during his ambition to become a member of the CAF executive committee.

Pinnick returned to Nigeria on Friday after defeating Benin Republic’s Anjorin Moucharafou 32 to 17 votes in the election held in Addis Ababa on Thursday.

“I thank the Federal Government for giving me that endorsement which was the tonic I needed at that point, i thank the senate president Bukola Saraki

“Most importantly, there’s a new dawn in CAF. On behalf of CAF we want to thank the former leadership, they did well.

I’m happy with the quality of people in the new executive committee, a lot is expected from us and we will do everything we can to right every wrong."

Ahmad Ahmad defeated Issa Hayatou by 34 to 20 votes to emerge the new president of CAF since 29 years.
