Salah Is EPL Player Of The Season
Liverpool striker, Mohamed Salah, can’t just stop winning.
The latest in his shelf of trophies is the EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Season.
Salah was announced the winner on the Premier League’s official website on Sunday making him the first African to achieve the feat.
Salah topped a shortlist including Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, David De Gea of Manchester United, Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley’s James Tarkowski.
He won the award by receiving the most combined votes from a panel of experts, Premier League captains and fans via a public vote.
The Egypt international scored for Liverpool against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, taking his tally to 32 and becoming the all-time highest scorer in the EPL in one season.
He also became the first African to breach the 30-goal mark in a single campaign, and the only man to win three EA SPORTS Player of the Month awards in the same season.
His EA SPORTS award adds to the individual honours Salah won from the Professional Football Association (PFA) and the Football Writers Association this season.
He was also named 2017 CAF and BBC African Footballer of the Year.
